I'm an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Cultures at Assumption College, Massachusetts.
I did my Bachelor's degree in Philosophy in the Department of Human Sciences at Universidad Catolica del Ecuador and studied a Master's degree in Literature and Cultural Studies at Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar, in Quito. In 2004, I got my Ph.D. in Latin American Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. As a part of my academic formation and a Graduate Certificate in Latin American Studies at the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, I also studied at the Graduate Program of Latin American Studies at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, UNAM, in Mexico City.
Among my teaching and research interests are 19th and 20th Century Andean literatures, modern utopian literature, and contemporary literary chronicle. I am also interested in Latin American studies, gender studies and critical theory.
In these pages you will find some information about my research and teaching interests, selected publications, courses' syllabi, web-based activities and useful links for Spanish language, and Latin American Literature and Culture courses.
If you would like to have a copy of my C.V. please contact me and I will send you a copy (pdf file).
