Diego Rivera
is one of the most important painters and muralists of the
20th Century in Mexico. His artistic work was highly influenced
by the social principles of the Mexican Revolution (land reform,
public education and freedom),
Marxism,
and artistic vanguard ideas.
In Dia de Muertos (shown above),
Rivera portraits the popular customs and traditions of the
day of the dead.
