Assumption College Posting Policy
Contact the Office of Student Activities at 508-767-7403 with any
questions.
1. All postings/notices/posters/e-mails/advertisements MUST be
approved by The Office of Student Affairs or the Office of Student
Activities and bear the approval stamp. All postings must also list
a sponsoring group, club or department. Personal postings are not
allowed. Postings without the approval stamp and sponsoring group
information will be removed.
2. Paper postings are to be no larger than 22"x28" (poster
board size).
3. Postings MAY NOT be placed on GLASS doors, windows, etc.
4. Postings MAY NOT be placed on any painted walls, furniture, or
food service areas in Charlie's Snack Bar or Taylor Dining Hall.
Bulletin boards ONLY are to be used in these areas.
-TABLE TENTS: Table Tents on the tables in Charlie’s and Taylor
Dining Hall will only be allowed for a few special events only (see
St. Activities for approval). All advertisement on tables in Charlie’s
or Taylor Dining Hall should be done through the “AC Connection.”
5. Postings MAY BE placed on cinder block walls in other areas
of the Campus Center, however only masking tape should be used.
Do not use scotch tape, double sided tape, or duct tape. Staples
may be used on bulletin boards, however, items posted with heavy
duty staple guns or heavy duty tapes (including duct tape) will
be removed.
6. Postings MAY NOT be placed on any Campus Road/Parking Signage.
7. Postings MAY NOT be placed (taped or stapled, etc) on campus
trees, roads, or walkways.
8. Postings on car windshields may be allowed, but must be approved.
9. Large Tapestries/Sheets are NOT allowed due to space constraints.
10. Sidewalk Chalk may be used in approved areas only. See the
Office of Student Activities for approval.
11. Postings must be removed by the individual/organization who
placed postings within 24 hours of the event/election/program.
12. While the Office of Student Affairs has little inclination toward
a "censorship" role, postings must meet standards established
by the College for good taste and appropriate content and must be
in keeping with the values of the Assumption community. Please contact
the Office of Student Affairs or the Office of Student Activities for
more information and policies regarding postings of notices.
13. Additional posting rules may be applied in specific Residence
Halls or other Campus Buildings. Please see the hall's Resident
Director or building supervisor for information.
PLEASE NOTE: In the Information Technology Center and the Science
Center Postings MAY NOT be placed on walls or glass windows or doors.
Bulletin boards are available, see department secretary for access.

Additional Procedures/Guidelines for Posting Information:
Mass E-Mails:
1. Mass E-mails may be sent out to advertise on-campus events sponsored
by an approved student club or organization and open to the entire
student body.
2. All E-mails must be approved and sent out using the following
procedures:
-E-mails advertising SGA, CAB, or other club events must be approved
and sent out by
either the Office of Student Activities or Office of Student Affairs.
-E-mails advertising Residence Hall events must be approved and
sent out by the Office of Residential Life.
-E-mails advertising Athletic events must be approved and sent
out by the Athletic Department.
-E-mails advertising Student Development Center programs must be
approved and sent out by the Student Development Center.
-E-mails advertising other events must to approved and sent out
by the department sponsoring the event.
3. To send out a mass E-mail contact an administrator in the sponsoring
department.
WACTV Bulletin Board:
1. The administrative staff in the Media Center must approve advertising
on WACTV.
Advertising must meet standards established by the College for good
taste and appropriate content and must be in keeping with the values
of the Assumption community.
2. To post a message on WACTV please contact the Media Center at
x7215.
Mass Phone Messages:
1. Mass phone messages to advertise events and disperse information
to students will be allowed on a very limited basis. Requests for
sending mass phone messages will be at the discretion of the Director
of Student Activities.
2. Contact the Director of Student Activities at x7403 should you
be interested in sending a mass phone message.
Off Campus Postings:
1. Notices for employment opportunities may be posted on the job
posting board only, located in the lobby of the Campus Center. These
notices must be stamped by the Office of Student Affairs
2. Postings advertising events being held at, and sponsored by,
other Worcester Consortium Colleges may be posted. Postings must
follow Assumption College guidelines and be approved.
3. Postings advertising bars, or events at local bars, are not
allowed.
4. Postings advertising Spring Break trips are not allowed. Assumption
College students are not allowed to use the College’s name
as a sponsor of any such trips.
5. Assumption College reserves the right to not allow any advertising
it deems inappropriate.
