What is SGA?

The Student Government Association represents all full-time undergraduate students at Assumption College.  The S.G.A. provides an opportunity for all students to actively contribute to the academic and social climate of the campus.

Assumption College encourages students to participate in the governance of the campus community.  One avenue for this participation is through the election of student leaders.  The elected representatives of the student body, include the Student Government Association President, Vice-Presidents, Class Officers, and eight Senators from each of the Classes.

The Senate meets weekly to discuss and address issues of campus concern.  Unless otherwise noted, weekly meetings are open to all students and other members of the Assumption College community.  Everyone is encouraged to attend, to voice opinions, or to listen and observe.

The Student Senate is conducted by an Executive Committee comprised of the President, Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Senate Speaker, and Vice President for Financial Affairs.  These individuals serve as the primary Student Government Association liaisons with the faculty, staff and administration.

All members of the College community are invited to visit the Student Government Association office, which is located in Charlie's area of the Campus Center.  You can reach the SGA Office at 508-767-7396.
