AC Band

The Assumption College Band is a 30-40 member ensemble comprised of students, faculty and occasional community members that perform several concerts, at Family Weekend, at the Incoming First Year Student Open House in the Spring and at selected athletic events as well as many special events throughout the school year. The Assumption College Band performs traditional Concert Band scores as well as Pep Band material. Many students choose to take Band for credit (1 credit for each semester -maximum 3 credits) but some do not. There is no audition for entrance, but you should own your own instrument. (In the cases of some larger instruments, instruments may be provided.)

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

The Campus Activities Board sponsors several of the social, cultural, and general entertainment events on campus. All students are welcomed and encouraged to attend all of the Wednesday night meetings in the Student Activities Resource Room below Charlie’s. By going to these meetings, students will become involved in the planning of several events such as coffee house music, comedians, concerts, films, and various special events. In the past, CAB has sponsored some great events such as the Holiday and Spring Balls, Family and Siblings’ Weekends, and huge concerts featuring Ben Folds in 2007, Dashboard Confessional in 2006, Howie Day in 2005, Guster in 2004. CAB has also presented the musical talents of One Sweet World, Tom Satori Band and comical performances by Loni Love, John Bush and Eric O’Shea. Along with weekly entertainment, CAB is also responsible for planning students’ favorite events like Welcome Back Week, Fall and Spring Fever, and the Last Day of Classes celebration. CAB encourages all students to take a chance, and get involved. Come to our meetings every week or a few times a semester! All are welcome!
