Capoeira Club

The goal of the Assumption Capoeira Club is to introduce students to a unique Brazilian art form. Capoeira combines martial arts, dance, gymnastics, and music into one comprehensive package that is both beautiful and deadly. Members of the club learn the movements and history of capoeira, as well as promote awareness of the art around campus through performances and demonstrations. Anyone from the school is welcome to join, regardless of prior experience.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading offers all students who have either competed in high school or have an interest in the sport a way of competing against one another and other colleges. They also compete in the NCAA Division II tournament. Cheering is done both in the fall and in the winter.

Dance Team

The purpose of this organization is to give students a chance to dance and perform while they are enrolled at Assumption College. The goal of this Assumption College Dance Team is to allow dancers to take part in the NDA Dance Camps as well as compete on both a regional and national level. To be a member of the team, one has to audition. Auditions will take place in the fall.

Equestrian Club

The Assumption College is one of the newest clubs formed on campus. Composed of riders of all levels, we travel to a nearby riding academy in Jefferson, MA. The stable, Integrity Equestrian Center, is about 20 minutes from the college. We practice proper horsemanship and riding etiquette, taking lessons once a week. We are not focused solely on riding, and plan on visiting many horse related events throughout the course of the year.

Outdoors Club

The Outdoors Club offers students and staff of Assumption College opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in a safe, educational and fun environment. In order to serve both experienced outdoors enthusiasts and novices alike, the club sponsors events that offer a variety of outdoor experiences, with ranging levels of physical challenge. A strong emphasis is placed on the building of relationships.

AC Step Team

The AC Step team hopes to provide the interested Assumption College student the chance to learn the art of stepping. It also hopes to enhance diversity at the college through learning a unique type of dance. All students are welcome to join but space is limited.
