¿What is Cab?

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) sponsors many of the social events happening all over the AC Campus. From the big spring concert and holiday ball to comedians and big prize bingo, CAB’s goal is to make sure that AC students are having fun, all semester long! The dedicated members of CAB work hard each week planning and advertising events for the whole campus to enjoy. All students are invited and encouraged to join CAB to be involved in the deciding who comes to campus.

Meetings take place every Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the Student Activities Resource Room in the basement of the Hagan Campus Center. The general meetings run for roughly 15 minutes and then members break off into their subcommittees for the remainder of the hour. Regardless of whether you’ve been to one, five, or no meetings at all, everyone is welcome! CAB appreciates everyone’s help and is always looking for some fresh faces to join.

The subcommittees of CAB are as follows: Comedy, Special Events, Live @ Charlie’s, Concerts, Formal Events, Family Weekend and Siblings’ Weekend. Please click here to meet all of the executives and chairs for the '09/'10' academic year!

The CAB office is located on the main floor of the Hagan Campus Center. Feel free to stop by anytime, call extension 7058, e-mail cab@assumption.edu, or IM us at ACCABEvents. Don’t forget, "Keepin' it Fresh With CAB."

Take a look at some of CAB’s previous and events-in-the-making that rocked the AC Campus (the responsible subcommittees are listed in italics):

Comedy Everyone needs to take break from school work every once and a while and de-stress. What better way to do this, than to laugh.  About once a month CAB brings comedians here to Assumption. They usually perform on the stage in Charlie’s and are a lot of fun. Stop by and check one out!!!
Special Events Special events provide an opportunity for students to have some time to their selves and  enjoy some different events that Assumption College has to offer. So far this year Leslie, the Special Events exec, will be planning game shows, bingos, movies and more! The highly anticipated "The Hangover" will be shown in October. The Special Events subcommittee will help Formal Events and help to plan, advertise, and carry out these different fun events!
Live @ Charlie's If you ever want to take a load off and listen to some good music come down to Charlie’s. Live @ Charlie’s committee plans all of the small coffeehouse performances and our annual AC Idol. Throughout the year we choose different performers to come and shed their talent on our Charlie’s stage. We try to mix it up with something different every month to accommodate the different tastes of music out there.  So if you want to sit back, relax and listen to some great music make sure to keep your eyes open for the upcoming musical acts during the year!.
Concerts The Concert subcommittee is in charge of planning two huge events on campus!  Fall fever, and the big spring concert are events that students look forward  to every year and this year is no exception!  Fall fever was a great success and Pete and his subcommittee are looking forward to planning the rest of the year!  Stay tuned to see what we’re up to and who the concert will be this year!
Formal Events Sometimes AC students like to trade it their sweatpants for something a tad more dressy. Meg, the Formal Events Exec,  is in charge of planning two magical nights per year where they can do just that.  During the winter and spring balls, juniors and seniors get all dressed up for dancing and dining with their friends.  The Formal Event committee chooses the theme, colors, favors, menus, and coordinates the ticket sales for the ball.  This semester the theme of the winter ball is, "A December to Remember."
Family Weekend

Took place during the fall semester, Family Weekend allows Assumption students an excuse to see family and friends from home. Featuring an active carnival with plenty to do for family members of all ages, Family Weekend is a fun and exciting time for students Freshman through Senior!

Siblings Weekend Taking place in the spring semester, Siblings Weekend is some serious fun for AC brothers and sisters. Always with an awesome main theme, Sibs Weekend provides activities for sibs of all ages. Last year's Toys R Us themed weekend featured inflatables and free family photos that were a huge success! Siblings Weekend will take place February 26-27, 2010
