How does our assessment plan mesh with
the mission of the
College?
Part of the Assumption College mission statement is as follows:
Enlivened by the Catholic affirmation of the harmony of faith and
reason, we aim, by the pursuit of the truth, to transform the minds
and hearts of students. As student affairs practitioners, we work
very closely with students. They come to us from a variety of backgrounds
with a wide range of goals and aspirations. Some are ready to choose
a major and follow a career path almost from the onset. More commonly,
students have absolutely no idea what life holds for them, which
can be a great source of anxiety. Regardless of where a student falls
on that continuum, we know the kind of student who thrives at Assumption
College is the one who engages in campus life. The student testimonies
speak to the impact campus engagement makes in the overall college
experience. Some of these experiences include: volunteering, student
government, athletics, recreation, residential life, campus activities,
mission trips, and many others. The out of classroom experience augments
the exceptional classroom teaching and has the potential to spark
an intellectual passion that may otherwise have gone undiscovered.
