$5 for Students, $10 General Admissions

Tick, Tick, BOOM! is Jonathan Larson’s autobiographical work of his life as a starving artist and the drive needed to follow his dreams and eventually write his Broadway smash, RENT. The rock music, modern human drama, and hopeful outlook will ring familiar with any fan of his other work. The show has been directed by senior Amy Laurendeau, and stars Mark Blessington (’08), Meline Vergne-Skelly (’12), and Ben Krol (’11).

The story follows Jonathan, his girlfriend Susan, and his best-friend Michael as Jon turns 30 and is torn between following his dreams and starving or giving out for the easier life. Susan pulls him toward family, Michael toward money, and Jonathan pulls himself toward his dream, only to find the loss of more and more confidence.

Through the course of the story Jon must determine what he really wants out of life, whether he has the strength to find it, and whom he wants there with him when he does. It is a story of hope and aspirations amid a battlefield of failures and extreme expectations, and is sure to inspire anyone who has ever thought of looking for that elusive ‘something more’.
