Welcome to AC Upstage!
We produce all of the theatrical shows at Assumption
College, with two major productions per year, and a number of smaller student-directed shows appearing periodically.
This December we will see our first student-directed musical with Tick, Tick, BOOM! The autobiographical work from the creator of RENT, about following your dreams and dealing with life’s harshest pitfalls, will air on December 4, 5, and 6.
In the summer of 2008 we produced our first summer stock production, William Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona. The play will be held outdoors at Bancroft Tower on August 8, 9, 10 & 17.
Last semester (Spring 2008) saw the presentations of Into the Woods and "Baby With the Bathwater." This term there are several exciting productions lined up as well, with the headline feature being The Life of Galileo, a production which will involve much of the school as well.
Each fall there is at least one straight play, and each spring a large musical. The coming years will see the musicals moved from our Laska Gymnasium to the Hanover theater, in downtown Worcester.
