Area College Students to Clean Up Worcester
Worcester, MA-Students of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium will participate in the Seventh Annual Mayor's College Clean-Up on Saturday, March 31, 2001, beginning at Assumption CollegeÕs Laska Gymnasium at 9:00 a.m. From Assumption, students will enter into the Worcester community to clean up trash and debris in several designated areas. The Clean-Up is the result of Worcester Mayor Raymond MarianoÕs initiative to engage college students in community service for the city. This year's event is being coordinated by the Office of the Mayor for the City of Worcester, the Department of Public Works, and the Assumption College Reach Out Center, in conjunction with the "Holy Cross Cares Day." Sponsors of the event are: SpagÕs, Wal-Mart, The Portland Group, Worcester Regional Transit Authority, AA Transportation Inc., Holy Cross Cares Day, Anna Maria College, Assumption College, College of the Holy Cross, Quinsigamond Community College, and Worcester State College.
