Judy Shephard to speak at Assumption College

Worcester, MA—Assumption College is proud to announce a lecture entitled “The Legacy of Matthew Shephard,” by Judy Shephard on Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Laska Gymnasium.

Judy Shephard is the mother of Matthew, the homosexual Wyoming college student who was brutally attacked and killed as the result of a hate crime in 1998. Since her son’s death, Judy has traveled to many schools and colleges to speak to young people about hat crimes and creating a safe community for all, regardless of race, sex, religion, or sexual orientation.
