Assumption College d'Alzon Lecture to Feature Alum

Assumption College presents its 2003 d’Alzon Lecture, featuring Gerard
B. Wegemer, professor of English at the University of Dallas and founding director
of the Center for Thomas More Studies. The lecture will be held on Thursday,
November 13, at 7:30 pm in the Hagan Campus Center Hall.
Dr. Wegemer, who received his undergraduate degree from Assumption College in
1972, will speak on “The Work of Liberal Education: St. Thomas More’s
Theory and Practice”. He is the author of Thomas More: A Portrait of Courage
and Thomas More: On Statesmanship. In addition to his duties as the director
of the Center for Thomas More Studies, he is also serving as an editor for the
international journal Moreana, and he is currently editing a paperback series
of More’s major works.
