Annual Voices for Children Bike Ride
September,
2004—The 6th Annual Voices for Children Bike Ride,
a fundraising biking event to raise the awareness of child sexual
abuse, will take place at Assumption College on Sunday, September
12, 2004.
Four ride routes
are available: a 1-5 mile family ride, 10-mile, 25-mile, and 50-mile
courses. This fun family event will include activities for all age,
including raffles/giveaways, live entertainment, face painting,
the UMass Life Flight Helicopter, face painting, a bicycle safety
course, clowns, concessions, and much more.
All proceeds
will benefit three Worcester-area agencies chosen for their commitment
to child advocacy and the prevention of child sexual assault: Child
Assault Prevention, The CASA Project, and UMass Memorial Children's
Medical Center.
Registration
begins on campus at 8:00 a.m. The 50-mile ride starts at 9:00 a.m.,
and all other riders will start pedaling promptly at 10:00 a.m.
The event will be held rain or shine.
