Life Administrators Recognized for Outstanding Service

Assumption College’s administrators were recently honored
for their exceptional work with students.
Catherine WoodBrooks, Ph.D., vice president for Student Life, has
won the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators
(NASPA) Region I Institutional Leadership Award. This award recognizes
a leader on campus that demonstrates forward thinking, creative
problem solving, and active engagement of students, as well as significant
contributions to the community in terms of policies, programs, staff
and student development.
Dr. WoodBrooks said she is “very honored and humbled”
by this award, particularly for the significant recognition of her
work in actively engaging the student body.
Neil Castronovo, Ph.D., dean of Student Development, has been selected
as the Region I nominee for the Outstanding Performance as a Dean
Award. If selected, he will be awarded the National Award for Outstanding
Service as a Dean.
“Neil is known throughout the College and the greater academic
community as a master motivator and active participant in all matters
vital to assisting students and enhancing the academic experience
and quality of life for undergraduates,” said colleagues Marta
Carlson, associate director of Student Development and Counseling,
and David Kowalczyk, co-director of Career Services. “He is
an extraordinary leader who daily carries out his work with caring,
intelligence, integrity, and joy.”
Neil and Catherine will be honored at the upcoming NASPA Region
I Conference, which will be held in Mystic, CT.
