Bruce Smith, Poet
October,
2004—Assumption College's HUMANARTS series presents
a reading with award-winning poet Bruce Smith, on Wednesday, November
3, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of La Maison Francaise.
Bruce Smith is the author of four books of poetry, including Mercy
Seat and The Other Lover, which was a finalist for
both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. He has been
a Guggenheim fellow, and has twice received grants from the NEA
and the Massachusetts Arts Council. He teaches in the graduate writing
program at Syracuse University and is at work on a new collection
of poems and a novel.
