Centennial Lecture with Mary Robinson, Former President of Ireland

September, 2004—As part of the Centennial Lecture Series, Assumption College will welcome Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, on October 6, 2004. Her lecture, entitled "Human Rights & Ethical Globalization," will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Hagan Campus Center Hall.

Mary Robinson was elected the first female President of Ireland in 1990, and served for seven years. In 1997, she was appointed the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. An outspoken champion of the oppressed, Robinson has challenged the governments of nations large and small with her uncompromising criticism of their human rights records.

This lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the Office of Public Affairs at (508) 767-7160.
