Receives Continuing Education's Outstanding Faculty Award
September,
2004—Dr. Rockie Blunt, adjunct faculty member for
Assumption College’s Center for Continuing and Professional
Education, received the Outstanding Faculty Award at the Annual
Continuing Education Faculty Dinner in August of 2004.
Continuing Education annually honors members of its adjunct faculty
who have taught at least 15 courses at the Center and who have also
demonstrated outstanding commitment, cooperation, and teaching ability.
These faculty members have a reputation for receiving excellent
course evaluations and showing a genuine concern for their students.
Dr. Blunt began teaching at the Center for Continuing and Professional
Education in 1990. He has taught courses such as Journal Writing,
Effective Business Writing, HRD Organizational Development, and
Speech. In addition to his teaching, he is a member of the Assumption
College Communications Certificate Advisory Board. He has served
as a CE faculty representative on the Continuing Education Council,
and has participated in many orientations for adult students.
Dr. Blunt is the president of his own firm, Blunt Consulting Group,
which provides communications training and services to companies
and organizations nationwide. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree
in English from Yale University, a Master of Arts in English from
Clark University, and he recently finished his Ed.D from Boston
University. He has had considerable experience teaching English
and Communications at Quinsigamond Community College, Clark University,
and Assumption College.
