Think of your best moments with students—the classes when time flies by, the instant when a student becomes inspired, or the personal coaching that results in lasting student effort. These moments of success occur when the conditions are right for you and your students—be it in the classroom, the hallway, the music room or on the athletic fields.
Jesus, Rabbi, taught his lessons effectively by teaching to the whole person. Educators in Catholic schools have the unique opportunity to follow Jesus’ example by teaching and supporting the whole student—in all areas of learning and development. For students, school is much more than a place to take classes and learn subject material; it is also where they discover themselves and their God-given talents, explore their beliefs and relationship with God, discern their vocation, and develop life-long aspirations. The NCCSA believes that Educators can best support the whole student by understanding and fostering the 8 Conditions® with their students.
We encourage all educators—teachers, coaches, and administrators—to approach your vocation as a ministry and think of your interactions with students as sacred opportunities to nurture them in the example of Jesus. Discover how fostering the 8 Conditions® in your ministry will help you hear your students’ voice, engage them in their learning, enrich them in their faith and help them achieve their aspirations.
Keynotes
Bring the NCCSA to your school for a keynote event. These lectures are a great introduction to the effectiveness of the 8 Conditions® and raise awareness to the importance of student voice.
Staff Surveys
Measure your school’s educational environment from the perspective of the adults working in the building. The My Voice Staff Survey allows teachers and support staff to assess the learning conditions within the school based on their experiences and working relationships with colleagues, students, parents and administration. Surveys are available through our partner, Pearson »
In-school Development
Benefit from our professional development and training sessions. These workshops are powerful opportunities for educators because they take place with your colleagues at your school. Topics are tailored to address your school’s needs and are typically in response to results from the My Voice Student Survey. Sessions allow you, as a group of educators, to initiate your own solutions to concerns revealed in your students' data, to reflect on your vocation, to grow in your faith, to deepen your knowledge of the Church's teachings, to share best practices, to be most effective when communicating with administration and parents, and to enrich your relationships with students.
Conferences
Attend an NCCSA conference and benefit from an in-depth combination of keynotes and workshop sessions. Conferences are an opportunity to reflect on your teaching practices in light of the 8 Conditions® and allow you to discover new ways to impact your students' learning and religious formation. Network with other Catholic school educators and gain insights on how you can best support student success at your school.
Retreats
Invite the NCCSA to present the 8 Conditions® that affect student success or request a specific topic for you and your colleagues to explore at an educators’ retreat.
