B.A./M.A. Program
The School Counseling program offers a BA/MA program that enables a student to complete requirements for both the Bachelor of Arts degree in an area of the liberal arts and sciences and the Master of Arts in School Counseling degree leading to eligibility for the Massachusetts Initial License for School Counseling (PreK-8; 5-12).
Undergraduate students in any undergraduate major considering admission for the fifth-year master’s program should consult with the Director of the School Counseling program during the spring semester of their junior year to discuss eligibility and application procedures and to plan a course of study. Interested students may request information about the graduate program in School Counseling from the Graduate School Office. With permission, students may take one (1) graduate class in the fall of their senior year and one (1) class in the spring of their senior year.
Undergraduate students who seek admission to the Master of Arts in School Counseling program must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in their major field of study and overall. To apply for admission to the fifth-year program, candidates must submit their application to the Graduate School Office in the beginning of the spring semester of their senior year.
