COLLEGE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
The telephone
(mass voice mail) is the primary means of emergency notification
at Assumption College. This system is intended for the immediate
transmission of specific information regarding an emergency
to all affected areas on campus. Other means of campus-wide
communication may include Assumption College Cable Television
Network, College E-Mail, and the Assumption College Homepage
www.assumption.edu. In the event of a power outage, notifications
will be posted in all campus buildings with the necessary
information.
EVACUATIONS
On-campus: Generally, should
there be a need to evacuate a campus building the evacuation
alarm will sound or you will be notified by an authorized
staff person to evacuate. Building occupants are expected
to immediately vacate the building, taking with them only
necessary items. Evacuees should meet in a pre-designated
area or an area they are directed to by an authorized staff
person so that roll call may be taken and necessary information
disseminated if deemed necessary. Buildings should not be
re-occupied unless directed to by an authorized staff person.

Off-campus: If the need arises to evacuate the campus the
community will be notified through the established procedure.
Information will be disseminated as to reason for such evacuation
and specified routes of travel as they become available through
Worcester Emergency Management.

Further information
on emergency situation can be obtained at the campus police "links" site
where there are links to various law enforcement sites,
emergency management (FEMA, NEMA, American Red Cross) sites,
and the Home Land Security link.
