Requesting Materials for the Library Collection
Books & Media
Each department is allocated a budget for the purchase of library materials. These funds are used for purchasing material that supports our undergraduate and graduate curricula. Some departments have specific policies in place for ordering library materials. For instance, some department chairs place all orders for their department, while other department chairs allow all department members to request materials through their Library subject liaison. Please check with your department chair.
How the Library Orders Materials
The Library contracts with specific book vendors to receive the best price on materials. If the item is not available for purchase through one of our vendors, we will order it directly from the publisher, association or distributor.
Books On Order and New Acquisitions
Books on order are searchable in our catalog. Order information appears in capital letters and you will see the designation "on order" or "received."
Once a book or film is added to the collection a location and call number will indicate where to find the item in our collection.
