FAQ'S
Question:
Why should I go on a SEND immersion trip?
Answer: Participating in a SEND program is a concrete way to put your faith
into action and to learn about the structures in society that are unjust and tend to keep people in poverty. Jesus calls each of us to serve and going
on a SEND immersion trip gives you the opportunity to do just that! Plus, you meet
new people, travel to another part of the country or world, and see life
from another perspective.
Question:
What are the Spring Break destinations for 2010?
Answer:
This year's spring break trips destinations are:
Baltimore, MD
Bay St. Louis, MS
Lansdale, PA
New Orleans, LA
Philadelphia, PA
Ware, MA
Washington, DC
Past projects have included work with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering
in an orphanage, providing a Spring Camp for kids in the South Bronx,
serving in a substance abuse recovery community, and helping the Religious
of the Assumption sisters continue to develop their new community in New
Mexico.
Question:
How much does it cost to go on a SEND. trip?
Answer:
The Spring Break trips cost $150 per person (except for the Gulf Coast trips, which cost $400). The Mexico Mission
costs $600.
Question:
Where do we go in Mexico?
Answer:
In 2008, the group divided up after traveling to Mexico together
and served in three different locations - Mexico City, San Ildefonso (a
rural area a few hours north of Mexico city), and Magdalena (a coastal,
poverty-stricken area).
Question: Who may I speak to if I have other questions or need more information:
Answer: MaryAnne Cappelleri, the campus minister who directs the SEND program. |
