The D'Alzon Chronicles
The D’Alzon Chronicles are now available for viewing here and on YouTube. Funded by an LSTA grant, the instructo-mercials were developed over the 07-08 academic year by video production students in conjunction with Library staff. The plot line follows Mike, the procrastinating college student, who is writing a psychology paper and needs help finding library resources. Loosely, based on the Christmas Carol, the instructo-mercials include a dream sequence and a bleak future when Mike decides to plagiarize.
Many people assisted with this project. From Assumption, they are John Hoover (Adjunct Professor), Tom Burke, Ted Haley, and Laurie Palumbo (Media Center), and students, Tom Sleeper ‘10, Lisa Keeney ‘10, Bridget Carr ’08, Mike O’Connor ’10, Brittany Ford ’10. Many students from the Video Production classes also participated. From Berklee College of Music, Don Wilkins, a faculty member of the Film Scoring Department, supervised the creation of the musical score along with his student composers, Alex Kovacs and Thom Pope.
Please take a look at the commercials and let us know what you think. The entire series, three instructo-mercials and three special features, can be found below. YouTube has the three instructo-mercials only.
