Learn about teaching online while experiencing it as a student

This course provides faculty the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of online pedagogy and how to teach an online, asynchronous course. Examples of topics covered are gradual release of responsibility, writing effective discussion board questions, and frequent, low-stakes grading. The project-based approach gives faculty a head start on developing their own courses by requiring them to develop a new or existing lesson for online delivery, evaluate their peers’ lesson plans, and consider how they’d revise their own lesson plans based on their peers’ feedback.
