Andrea Aswad '07I first heard the Chapel Choir sing at the Open House the spring before my freshman year began. As soon as I heard their voices, I was captivated. I was awe-struck, and immediately wanted to be part of this group. Initially I doubted that I would ever have the courage to join. But something in the back of my mind told me to fight my apprehension and seize this opportunity, something I do not often do. Joining the Chapel Choir is perhaps the smartest decision I have made since coming to Assumption. I do not come from a musical background, but I have always enjoyed singing – especially during mass. In retrospect, I am so happy that I did not let my lack of musical experience stop me from participating in something that I truly enjoy. I am proud that I "came out of my shell" and tried something new and exciting. Being part of such an aMazing group for the past two years on campus has given me so much: the chance to meet new friends, travel to new places, share my love of music, sing at a Kenny Rogers ChristMas concert, and experience a sense of real belonging within the Assumption community!

Allie Sherlock '07Hi there, My name is Allie Sherlock! As a freshman here at Assumption I was looking for activities to join that would be fun and allow me to meet a wide variety of people. Chapel Choir was one of the first things I looked into. I am so happy I did. Chapel Choir is by far one of most rewarding things I joined on campus. I have met a wide variety of amazing people. Many have quickly become my close friends. I look forward to our Thursday evening rehearsals and mass every Sunday. The Chapel Choir is not just a group that sings at mass on Sundays, we are a family and have been given so many chances to sing outside of the chapel. Another important thing about the Chapel Choir is that you do not have to be Catholic or of any particular skill level to join, you just need a love of singing and a friendly personality. I would highly recommend joining this group to anyone; it has definitely made my first year here at Assumption very enjoyable.

Kristen St. Martin '07Deciding to join the AC Chapel Choir has immensely impacted my life at school. Prior to entering Assumption my freshman year, I visited the school several times and once I heard the choir sing at mass, I knew that I had to be a part of it. I joined the chapel choir during my freshMan year, and haven't looked back since. Participating in the choir means much more than singing at weekly masses to me, it has meant meeting lifelong friends, furthering my spirituality, and partaking in once-in-a-lifetime activities such as singing backup for Kenny Rogers. I have found that joining the chapel choir has been one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever encountered. Learning to grow individually and as a group has taught me the values of teamwork and perserverence. Without this amazing experience, I would have surely missed out on so many incredible memories that I know will last a lifetime.
