Continuing and Career Education (CCE) has been established to fulfill the educational needs of adult learners by providing quality academic programs and services.
Assumption College is aware that education is a lifelong process which involves not only the mind but the total personal relationship to self, to others, and to God. The core of the education process is a curriculum of liberal arts and science which serves as a foundation for learning.
The specific objectives of CCE are:
* To help students in their quest for personal and professional growth.
* To provide the community with opportunities for cultural, intellectual and professional experiences.
* To provide opportunities to attain new knowledge needed to compete in a changing workplace.
* To increase the adult learner's appreciation for lifelong learning.
* To provide opportunities for personal definition and understanding implications of values, beliefs, and world views.
* To emphasize the knowledge adult learners share in the common as human beings and as inheritors of a sepcific cultural heritage.
In Assumption College's CCE programs, adults can earn a degree, develop career skills, or study for personal enrichment. Regardless of individual needs, CCE's basic objective is to help all students in fulfillment of their educational goals. Consequently, all degree programs include general education requirements that promote critical thinking, oral and written communication skills, and computer literacy, and provide a foundation for the Western Judeo-Christian tradition. In addition, coursework in concentration and certificate programs develops theoretical knowledge and applied practice in a variety of fields.
