Primary Responsibilities:
We must always remember the importance of giving back, which is the idea the Institutional Advancement Office works very hard to instill in the minds of alumni. Throughout the semester, I am statistically analyzing phone-a-thon programs and direct mailing programs, and researching other colleges’ Annual Fund projects. I also assist with the Senior Class Gift Campaign, the President’s Council Dinner and the Career Networking Event.
Blog Entry:
Over the last three years, Assumption College has given me more than I could imagine. It has given me the opportunity to make lasting friendships, receive a valuable education and network with both faculty and administration. Assumption College has given me the skills I will need to succeed in a “real world” business setting. This internship is an experience which allows me to take the skills I have learned in the classroom, and use them in a professional setting.
Intensive coursework in Business and Technical Writing, Marketing and Strategic Managerial Communication have given me communication and writing training that I have used in my internship. These combined skills have given me the tools to update the website and participate in staff meetings.
This internship has been a great opportunity for me. I am interning in a field that I can see as a career. Having an internship now, not only looks great on my resume, but will give me an idea of what I can expect about the workplace. This process will help me make the transition from a student to an individual ready to take on the real world.
