Genzyme Corporation is one of the world’s leading biotech companies with nearly 10,000 employees around the globe. Based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts, the firm has a sharp focus on finding cures for rare genetic diseases. Genzyme is currently serving patients in more the 100 countries.
As an intern on the corporate communications team, I have found that the scope of each of my projects has required extensive interaction within the Genzyme community. For example, I worked on a blog to be published on the company intranet to raise awareness about Genzyme’s annual Rare Disease Day. It has been very exciting to see that there is a direct correlation between the skills that I have learned in my Business and Technical Writing and Graphic Design class and my work at Genzyme.
This internship with Genzyme has been a great opportunity to learn in a business setting, while being able to add value to such an innovative company.
