Ball and Sargent Law Firm is a Worcester-based law firm which handles a variety of legal suits ranging from divorce to criminal defense. Although it is a small operation, it has been serving central Massachusetts for over 20 years and is extremely successful. The firm prides itself on being able to serve its clients to the best of its ability.
Both of my majors have helped me accomplish all of my tasks at Ball and Sargent. Organizational Communication has given me the tools necessary to effectively communicate with people inside the firm, as well as communicate with clients and other stakeholders in the firm’s external environment. My background in History has also been extremely helpful because it has given me a solid base knowledge of the U.S. legal system.
Specifically, my Communication Theory class has helped me work with various communication styles, and my Intercultural Communication class has given me the tools to work with clients of different cultures and backgrounds.
My experience with Ball and Sargent has been amazing, not only because I’ve been able to use the knowledge I’ve learned at Assumption, but also because I learn a new aspect of the law each day at the firm. The people I work with are incredible and I am excited that I can consider them part of my professional network.
