General Information:

Here is some preliminary, general information that may be helpful in planning for the Weekend:
:

Friday,
June 2

Come early to campus and view the $40 million dollar expansion at Assumption since our last reunion -- including the new Testa Science Center and Multi-Sport Stadium!

The evening begins with Casual Dining beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by a “Late Night Chocolate & Fruit Buffet” (for those who arrive later or are just still hungry!) from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m.

WHY DRIVE?? Gather a group of friends and plan to stay on campus in the brand new, air-conditioned, suite-styled, private-bathed residence hall! Whether you live out-of-town or NOT – it is a lot of fun!

Saturday,
June 7

Saturday will feature:

Enjoy a relaxed Continental Breakfast in Charlie’s at the Hagan Campus Center.

Workout in the Plourde Recreation Center; visit the campus bookstore; take a tour; and/or show your kids and friends where you lived 30 years ago!!

Alumni Awards Ceremony – Join us as we congratulate and honor this year’s recipients of the prestigious Alumni Association Awards:

  • Jack L. Bresciani ’72 Outstanding Alumnus/Alumna Award
  • Fr. Louis Dion, A.A. ’35 Outstanding Achievement Award
  • Honorary Alumnus/Alumna Award

The very popular Family Barbecue with entertainment for the young and “young at heart”! Last year we had over 400 people from reunion and non-reunion year classes. This is a great time to meet up with college friends – even if you are not celebrating your 5 th, 10 th, 15 th, etc.

Campus Tours will be running throughout the day

Gym & Swim for the kids and parents – a time to relax and refresh!

Reunion Mass where all chorale and glee club alumni are invited to sing.

A full day of activities leading up to our private, Class Dinner!

Our private, class dinner festivities begin with a 30 th Reunion Cocktail Reception at 6:30pm in the Testa Science Center Atrium followed by our private, Class Dinner at 7:30pm! This will be one of the highlights of our 30th reunion weekend, so please make plans to be here on Saturday evening with us.

Class Gift - When a class celebrates a reunion, classmates are encouraged to participate in the Reunion Class Gift (a gift to the Annual Fund or another College priority such as the multi-sport stadium). Reunion Classes strive for 40-50% class participation - some come in even higher! Past donors are encouraged to consider increasing their usual gift and those who have not given in recent years are asked to participate with a gift of any size to increase the participation level. The aim is to present the College with a Reunion Class Gift that reflects the enthusiasm of the class and their affection for Assumption College.

Our very attainable goal for our 30th reunion should be $45,000 with a 30 th ReunionParticipation record of 37% !

Every gift—no matter what size —counts towards class participation! Reunion gifts may be made on-line by visiting www.assumption.edu.

How can you prepare for the Reunion?

Class Directorieshave been mailed to all classmates.  Please look up your old roommates and friends and reconnect with them by phone or e-mail.

Make some Telephone Calls/Send some E-mails ! We know no one likes to be the first, but you’d be surprised how easy it is to re-connect. Once you receive your Class Directory – please look up old friends; get your group together; and plan on attending!

Registration Brochures will be mailed to you in April or May, or you can download (in April), complete, and send to the Alumni Office.

PhotosSee what we looked like 5 & 30 years ago! Please send us some new ones – we’ll post them!

Attendees - As of April 20 they are Kerry Daigle, Renee Menzie, James Mullen, Ellen Rae, Hope Rhoads, Suzanne Simoncini, Teresa Wilber,

Please check back often for more information about Reunion 2008 !

We’ll see you next June!
