More than 100 alumni didn’t let some wind and rain from Tropical Storm Hanna dampen their spirits as they gathered celebrate the 14th annual Assumption Prep Reunion in September.

The keynote speaker was former Prep Theology Teacher John Mercier AP’58, who shared his fond memories of the Prep School and pointed out the many unique features and advantages of an APS education and experience. Click here to read his speech.

Emcee Moe Boisvert AP’62 did a masterful job once again, providing liveliness and fun mixed in with poignant stories. The highlight of the day was the Healthcare in the 21 st Century lecture and discussion, with three alumni serving on the panel: Peter Deckers, Ph.D. AP’58, HD’08, who recently retired from his positions as dean of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and executive vice president of health affairs at UConn Health Center; Bob Ouellette, M.D. AP’48, former chief of staff and head of anesthesiology at Worcester’s St. Vincent Hospital; and Jim Karpawich, Ph.D. AP’65, a forensic psychologist.

Auditorium Campaign
Peter Deckers, M.D. AP'58 and Charlie Bibaud AP'51 are leading an effort to raise $500,000 for the Assumption Prep Auditorium. The project was a renovation of an existing auditorium in Kennedy Memorial Hall to a 70-seat, multi-media, high-tech, e-learning facility. Funds are still needed for endowment.
