Dan Jones HA’12
Dan Jones, assistant professor of accounting, received the Honorary Alumnus Award in 2012 for his devotion and generosity to the Assumption community. A faculty member since 2005, Dan is a member of the President’s Council (since 2009) andhas served the College on several committees. He is a mentor for the baseball team. Dan and wife Margie reside in Needham.
Paul and Geraldine MacKinnon P’02, ’05, ’10, HA’11
Paul and Gerri received the College's Honorary Alumni Award in 2011 after serving on the Parents Committee for 10 years. During their two-year tenure as Committee co-chairs, parents’ total giving increased from $165,000 to $294,000. All three of their children – Brian ’02, Tim ’05, and Jillian ’10 – are Assumption alumni. The MacKinnons joined the College’s President’s Council, its society of leadership donors, in 1999 and have enjoyed attending the annual dinner at Mechanics Hall. Paul served on the Board of Trustees (2001–10), supported the College at numerous events and also hired several Assumption alumni at Bank of America, from which he retired as a vice president in 2008. Gerri is a learning disabilities teacher at Governor Winslow Elementary School in Marshfield.
Kevin received the College’s Honorary Alumnus Award in 2010. An Assumption faculty member since 1972, Kevin has served the College as faculty respresentative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association since 1988, overseeing academic eligibility for all Assumption student/athletes. An associate professor of geography in the Department of Economics and Global Studies, he has served as the public address announcer at Assumption’s home basketball and football games for more than 20 seasons. Kevin, wife Laurie McCrohon ’87, and sons Patrick and Conor reside in Worcester.
