The Roman Fall
Alfred lee
New York
The Roman Fall, the Roman Fall, That graceful arch the Roman Fall
The wonder of the age I call The
Swells own walk, the Roman Fall.
Although I am a modest, man, I think it's right to say,
I'm always first in fashion's view, In fact I lead the way;
Whether it's walking in the Park, Or riding in the Row,
The Roman Fall's O.K. to do, For me a dashing beau
CHORUS
Now Venus gives the Grecian Bend, Apollo gives the bow,
The point idea when seen West-end, Is really Comme il faut;
A Roland good for an Oliver, So given in our walk,
We Swells find it more jolly far, To do and not to talk
CHORUS
No more the old time lazy crawl, Displays the tailer's art
We substitute the Roman Fall, And charm our darling's heart;
As three abreast we do the Row The thing is quite unique
The patent of a Dashing Beau The trademark of your clique.
CHORUS
