The Spiritual Divorce Case.
MRS. CORA L. V. HATCH APPLIES FOR A DIVORCE FROM HER HUSBAND, DR. BEN. HATCH--HER COMPLAINT.
During last summer rumors were rife among spiritualists that Mrs. Cora L. V. Hatch, the trance medium, was about to apply for a divorce from her husband, on account of alleged ill treatment on his part. It was subsequently stated, however, that the matter had been settled by the good offices of mutual friends. It seems, however, from a complaint recently made before the Supreme Court by Mrs. Hatch, that she intends to get rid of her present husband, if the law will second her wishes. The complaint sets forth--[here follows a close paraphrase of the complaint as filed. The paper did not print the word onanism but rather wrote "The plaintiff further stated that the defendant, in her presence, had been guilty of *****, and other immoral offenses, to the damage of her health and delicacy."]
