Charge of Seduction.--Julia Barry of No. 166 Hester street appeared
before Judge Welsh late yesterday afternoon, and charged Michael
Galvin, with whose parents she had been living as servant girl
during the whole of last year, at No. 167 Seventh avenue, with
having seduced her some four months since. Michael said, in answer
to the charge, that if she did possess virtue, he knew and could
prove it to be of a very easy character. The Magistrate being
rather doubtful as to her truthfulness from the evidence adduced,
dismissed the charge. As they left the Police Court, the long
archway of the City Hall basement resounded, until she had made
her exit, with the repetitions of "O Galvin! O Galvin! You
have spoilt me!"
